In summer of 20xx, public officials in our province of Saskatchewan issued a decree: that allaffected people leave their homes and in mass exodus, travel to places of refuge where theycould be safe and accounted for.
They were escaping blazing forest fires of epic proportions.
It was the largest evacuation in Saskatchewan history.
Thousands of people were on the move, all of them in uncertain circumstances, not knowinghow quickly they would return home.
For a few young women, these circumstances had an added dimension of uncertainty. Theywere in the late stages of pregnancy.
These young women were living as displaced persons far from home, without the supplies theyhad gathered for their new baby.
Thankfully, for all concerned, healthy babies were delivered in hospitals close by with medicalstaff to give assistance.
We are privileged to live in a province where people come together. That can be difficult whenstress levels are high.
And so I salute the evacuees, and the firefighters, and the troops, and the Red Cross, and thelocal officials, the mayors and chiefs.
Those who shared money, food and supplies, those who prayed for an ending to this situation.All rose to the occasion.
Two thousand years ago, a public official named Caesar Augustus issued a decree that all peopleneeded to be accounted for. It affected the entire Roman world. Everyone needed to beregistered.
Many people were on the move, with primitive travel arrangements, not knowing how long thiswould take.
I'm sure for some young women, this circumstance had an added dimension of uncertainty.Like being in the late stages of pregnancy.
For one of these young women, the time came to have her baby, her first. Not in a local hospitalalong the way, not even in a clean, comfortable Holiday Inn, but in a stable, with precious fewamenities.
Her only assistant, a most likely very, very nervous husband, with perhaps some curiousanimals looking on.
She didn't have much for supplies either. All she had were a few strips of cloth to wrap him in.And all she could lay him in was not a cradle made by her carpenter husband, but just asimple, dirty manger.
Crude surroundings for a King. His first visitors – an adoring group in from the fields smellingstrongly of sheep. They were alerted by a type of atmospheric media unlike any we couldimagine.
All rose to the occasion.
This Christmas, we celebrate the arrival of that very special baby boy. The "Divinest Heart thatever walked the earth was born on that day" as it has been said.
His name is Jesus, the essence of hope and peace and the ultimate example of self-sacrificefor love.
So from me and my wife Tami, and our family, and on behalf of my colleagues in theGovernment of Saskatchewan: "May you have the gladness of Christmas which is hope; thespirit of Christmas which is peace; and the heart of Christmas which is love."

看着那个书包，我的心里就有一种说不出的自豪，我仿佛又站在了领奖台上，那次英语演讲比赛给我的不仅有奖品，还有成功。
去年暑假，妈妈单位举行英语演讲比赛，妈妈给我报了名。
我慌了起来，要知道，我的英语成绩只是平平的。虽然离比赛还有半个月时间，可我早就开始选、背稿子了。
半个月来，房间里总是传来背诵英语的声音，不管是夜晚、白天，我只要有空，就背诵起来，甚至连做梦时，我都在做关于英语比赛的梦。我放弃了看电视的时间，用来背稿子；我放弃了玩耍的时间，用来背稿子；我放弃了休息的时间，用来背稿子……
终于到了比赛的日子，那天，赛场上来了几十名参赛者，面对这么多的选手，我心里有点害怕了，很没有胜利的信心。可又一想，如果我现在退出，不就等于失败了吗？荣誉属于勇敢者！我在心里想了半天，决定参加了。
我是第一个演讲的，我流畅地把那篇稿子背了下来，简直有点不敢相信自己的嘴巴。接下来听别人的演讲，突然，我发现一个水平似乎比我高的小女孩，我顿时紧张起来，唉，她好像错了一个单词，又好像没错。其实她真的错了，只是因为我太紧张没听清楚。演讲比赛接近尾声的时候，我觉得自己的水平能得第一，别人好像没戏了。我突然离开座位，想找妈妈去报喜。走到门口时，我觉得自己不能太骄傲了，还是等成绩出来后再说，于是我又转身回到了座位上。
终于到了激动人心的时刻，裁判宣布：“本次比赛满分是十分，今天比赛的最高分是九点九八分，获得第一名的选手就是第一位演讲的葛李盈同学。”裁判的话音刚落，台下掌声雷动，我悄悄瞅了一眼观众席上的妈妈，只见妈妈站起来向我挥手祝贺，我看到她的脸已经成了红苹果，妈妈比我还激动。哇！我得了第一名！眼前的情景让我难以置信，仿佛在做梦。我狠狠掐了自己一把，哎呀！好疼！的确不是做梦！的确是我得了第一名。
我在观众的掌声中走上领奖台，手里捧着我的奖品——书包，还有获奖证书，在众人羡慕的眼光中，我激动得脸一下子红到了耳根，有点害羞，又有点想流泪。
这次比赛证明，获得成功并不难，只要比别人加倍努力，加倍用心，为了成功努力，向成功发起“攻击”，那么你就一定会收获成功！

In a word, sports can give rise to a strong body for us.
In contemporary society, with the increasing focus on health, people in ever expanding numbers join the trend of doing sports and begin to accept more and more sorts of fashionable sports, ranging from hiking to diving. From this phenomenon, we can see not only do sports play a significant role in health, but also lay a solid foundation for human beings’ spirit.
Taking hiking for example, it’s a blend of man and nature completely way to travel, and also a kind of sports that not only need your physical strength, but also need the patience, perseverance and persistence. At the beginning of climbing a mountain, you’ll be exciting with the fantastic scene of mountain, river and water. However, after a half way, you’ll fell so tired and exhausted. The climbing road becomes more and more steep. At that time, it requires your persistence and determination to conquer arduous situations. My name is Dongqi Yang from china, I am horror to be here today and I am very happy to receive this award.
As you can imagine, as international students in Australia, the biggest challenge is English,I remembered that when I come here first time, there is a party in the house of my home stay. During the time, they played jokes and they laughed all the time, do you know how embarrassed that is, everyone laughed except you. So I pretend to understand the joke in another party, I saw everyone laugh and I laugh too in 5 seconds later. My home stay was surprised about that and asked me “do you understand?”， and I answered “no”， “So why do you laugh?” ”because I do not want to be embarrassed”!
But as I receive this award today, I want to thank to them, because they encourage me to be involved with the committee rather than staying in at home, play computer and speak Chinese.
When I came to Wantirna College first time, I met liz collar who is international student coordinator. She is very kind to me, and she encourage me join SRC, I went to SRC meetings regularly all the time, but I didn’t even know what SRC was! That is the reason why I told her, I don’t want to go to SRC anymore. But she said “why not? You should go and you have to go!”I asked” why?” she said:” because I said so!”
But as ii receive this award today, I want to thank her. She helps me a lot.
Truth be told, I am not the best student in Wantirna College, but I appreciate this award and I will try my best in future.
I think I got 10 seconds left, I want to thank to Les and Vera who is my lovely home stay, thanks to Liz collar who is international student coordinator, I strongly want to thank to my mother, because she support me and gave me the opportunity to come to Australia. 一个文明的社会首先应该体现在人对伦理道德自觉的信任，很遗憾，至今为止我们不得不以更多的框架来约束强迫促进社会与人及人与人的关系链结，如果退回到一个思考的原点，审视我们的灵魂和窥视他人的举止，不难发现，诚信两字在我们生活中正以一种无意识而向有意识的常态过渡蔓延，姑且不论一个国家、一个企业、一个公司、一个机构失信于人所导致的恶劣的结果。生活中我们处理人际关系彼此更多的不信任，比如生活中普遍的等人现象，从无意识的外因所导致迟到到一种有意识的刻意晚到，或者发展为去与不去，有利或无利，值不值得，一开口就引发人性思考的欺骗，逐渐发展为更为恶劣的各种骗局，站在一个自私的立场，无视另一方信任及损失，这也的确是一个文明而不稳定的事实和社会现象。
物质社会所负荷出的思考下，许多人把诚信二字重新定义，认为诚信只需要向利益讲究，诚然，我们失去了一种信任，似乎对自己无关紧要的信任，可以给自己更多的空间做非常现实而感性的思考和个人发展，当然我们无视人是共存的动物，失去了一种对利益以外的责任感，姑且不论失去一种做人的厚道良知和道德谴责下的麻木不仁，所引发的心理思考，足够导致文明社会下人性的瓦解，一个极不稳定的社会生活环境下对人性是危险的，人与人的关系乃至人与社会的关系是暧昧的，社会风气是腐蚀狭隘的。“人因诚信而立。”
作为当代中国青年，个人认为每个青年最重要的是学会做人，至少是一个有责任感的人，这是一个长远而有意义的品格持续过程，看似简单却对个人和他人乃至社会发展起到极其重要的推进，一个有诚信的社会是文明的，一个文明的社会必然飞速发展，对于小到个人，大到种族和国家发展是智慧而民主的，值得每一个人严肃去审视；去鞭策。
越来越多的有识之士呼吁诚信，呼吁一种不容丧失的社会责任，理论性的道理也不在少数，而社会依然始终还是在法律的约束框架下逻辑性程序中予以制约而保持稳定和平衡，自觉自愿的人始终是在少数，这实在是一种人的不理智和不文明而制使社会走向落后的体现。诚信意识需要得到广泛的普及，这不是一种思维，而是一种自觉的理念，现在我们对诚信的认识远远不够，甚至是扭曲的，呼吁力度也远远不够，甚至成了一种遭人唾骂的牢骚，这令“诚信”二字在社会中显得很苍白。
中国自古就是一个讲究诚信的礼仪之邦，我们有过在人类史上灿烂辉煌的五千年文明，也是一个比较理性的民族，物质文明飞速发展的今天，我们却失去了很多精神文明的财富，导致了文明社会下的不稳定性，我们匮乏的不止是能源、物质和智慧，还有我们的精神良知和道德。好在诚信是可再生资源，我们需要一种不宣的共识，捍卫诚信，是在捍卫一种不容丧失的社会责任，捍卫一个文明社会的尊严！

Whatever one does, one should do it with confidence. If one has no confidence, there is little possibility that one would ever achieve anything, especially when oneis faced with drawbacks or hardships. This truth seems to be evident. However, in reality we do see a lot of people who complain that they like the ability to do something or that their difficulties are too great to be overcome. For someone, this might be true. But for many others, this only shows that they have lost heart.
Why do people often feel frustrated even though they are capable of doing something? There are, among others, two main reasons. First, these people do have a correct estimate of themselves. Second, they overestimate the difficulties.
It is possible to build up faith in oneself by having the right attitude towards one’s abilities. We should never underestimate one’s abilities. But believe in the proverb: “Where there is a will, there is a way.” Confidence is the promise for fulfilling a task successfully.
